A walk through any child-related store will knock you over -- for those of us who didn't have such luxuries in our youthful years. The prices are amazing.
So, we went 'googling' and found some children's resale opportunities. In fact, I bought a jogging stroller at one of them 2 weeks ago. Here is a link to upcoming ones:

Heck, why not buy used on some of the big items if available and save that money for the child's college education!

Aunt Joanne, they have clothes & toy consignment sales that are really nice! Check out thebigredwagon.com and there's one coming up in Middleburg Heights on the 19th. I also check out a lot of garage sales.. Travis has scored some amazing deals doing that! The "experts" recommend not buying certain things used like cribs and car seats because of the new safety regulations and you never know if the car seat was in an accident and is damaged... but everything else, buy used!

Glad you're continuing the 'Berger' tradition of garage sale hunting. Aunt Jane and I would hit a # of them when our kids were little Great fun - and bargains!
